With specially
selected activities, the occupational therapists attempt to improve the skills
that the children have a not been able to develop, for example: the ability to
coordinate and control movement, the correct body perception, time
adjustment, concentration, attention span, orientation, memory etc.
Within the
occupational therapy program evaluation and rehabilitation takes place go
overcome possible difficulties that the child may have such as social,
communicative, and mobility difficulties with in the use of activities and
games.
Specifically
occupational therapy intervenes with problems that concern the basic areas of
normal development:
Field of mobility,
writing skills, sensory, behavioural, everyday life skills, cognitive and
perceptual functions, social skills.
Sessions in sensory
integration are also offered in a sensory integration design room
